Participation in CSS2026 requires prior registration and the preparation of a preliminary beamtime proposal. In addition, applicants must provide a supporting letter from a scientific advisor.
A proposal template together with detailed submission guidelines can be downloaded from the main page of the event. During the school, proposals will be further developed and refined within dedicated proposal writing and review sessions. Participants are strongly encouraged to prepare a proposal related to their own current or planned research activities. Applicants who are not currently involved in a research project may prepare a proposal addressing a selected scientific problem that could be investigated using the infrastructure of the chosen beamline.
