ESUO welcomes you to ESUO General Assembly
The European Synchrotron and Free Electron Laser User Organisation (ESUO) will have its 22nd General Assembly. After welcoming all participants over lunch, the General Assembly will begin at 13:00 with opening remarks from the host institution Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin/BESSY II and the ESUO President, addressed to all members and guests. The agenda will then proceed with updates on the organisation and its current projects. A discussion and vote on the amendment of the ESUO statutes will take place just before the coffee break.
Following the break, the election of the new Executive Board members will be held. The focus will then turn to the NEPHEWS project and its impact on the European research landscape, including its activities in Africa. Reports on user activities resulting from the NEPHEWS–LINXS collaboration will be presented, along with an overview of the DanScatt funding model and its potential applicability in European countries through NEPHEWS with an emphasis within NEPHEWS on targeted countries.
The second day of the meeting will start at 08:30 with a discussion on two NEPHEWS partners—ESUO and LEAPS—and their strategic collaboration on education and outreach activities which can help eliminate knowledge barriers preventing new users participation at lightsource facilities. This will be followed by a session on the Special Interest Group on Business, Industry, and Intermediary Companies, as well as presentations from ESUO national delegates providing updates on their community activities. The proposed date for the next meeting will be set at the close of the event.
There are opportunities for networking during the coffee breaks and lunches as well as during the get-together dinner at “I due Amici” on the first day of the meeting.
